Welcome to our Local Heritage study of World War II on the Leftley Estate. We are a group of 12, Year 5, children who have been working with English Heritage to find out more about what living on our estate during World War II was like. It has been a very interesting project where we have had the chance to interview former students, visit local archives and even take part in a mock evacuation.
We hope you enjoy looking at what we have found out. There are pages from our school log book which tell you about life in the school during the War. We also have bombing maps and some photos from our evacuation.
We are still working on editing our interviews and will be carrying out research into other historical links to our area in the near future, so please check back to look out for anything new.
We would like to thank all the adults who have helped us throughout this project!
